And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.“- 1 Corinthians 13:13

Love. Such a strong word with so many different meanings to each individual. Love is what got me started down this path a few years back. You see, it all started when my wife and I were looking for a wedding photographer. As we searched for the perfect fit, I saw many images. Some were beautiful, but I just didn’t “feel” them. I wanted someone that could capture us…..not “picture-perfect” us, but our beautiful mess….our love. As soon as Lindsey showed me their work, I knew they were perfect.

Fast forward about a year. I had been having quite a few sleepless nights…you know, restless, asking God to show me my purpose, when it hit me like a ton of bricks. In that year I had been looking at photographs (more like analyzing). What caught my eye, what would I have done different, what pulled at my heartstrings? It was all there, except the camera! What did I do? I jumped in head first, and never looked back. It’s not everyday you realize what you love to do. There’s that word again.

So, what do I love about what I do?

Honestly, all of it! For the sake of anyone who made it this far, I will give you some examples.

That moment when a groom first sees his bride. It’s a pretty amazing moment. I get goosebumps and butterflies. I will take that feeling with me as long as I live. That feeling is love.

When a Father dances with his daughter, and realizes she will always be his little girl, and wonders how this moment got here so quickly while trying to choke back the tears, because he loves her more than anything….ever.

When a couple of 50 years dance like no one is watching and gaze at each other the same way they did the first time they danced as husband and wife. It is love.

These memories will fade. More and more every day. My hope is to capture them. Frozen in a moment that when you look at them 50 years from now all of that emotion flows over you as if you were in the moment again. That emotion…..LOVE.
